(AUSTIN, Tex.) – Romantic, sentimental and deeply personal, Scribe, is a new fine jewelry collection that tells a story through the language of gemstones from Elizabeth Gibson, CEO/Founder of the Austin-based designer jewelry store, Eliza Page. The collection draws inspiration from sentimental Victorian Acrostic jewelry, which is alphabetic, and uses the first letter of a gemstone to spell out words of affection. Scribe has taken that concept and brought it into the 21st century.
Colored gemstones combined with symbolic 14-karat gold emblems to spell out meaningful messages that are worn as medallions, rings or earrings. Designed for new moms, friends, family members and couples, Scribe jewelry, celebrates love with inspiring words including adore, believe, dream, hope, beauty and love. Items in the Scribe collection can be customized using the name or names of loved ones, or any other word or color-combo imagined, creating a personal one-of-a-kind piece.
“The pieces in the Scribe collection are creative, free spirited and abstract,” says Gibson. “When I first found out about Acrostic, alphabetic jewelry I was fascinated and wanted to bring that meaning back into modern jewelry. Soon after learning about the language of gemstones, I went to Europe. I was inspired by the ironwork, historic architecture and the beauty of nature and symbolic motifs that I discovered during my travels, especially in Barcelona. It has taken me a decade to create the Scribe collection. It took the right team, a lot of research, development and design production to bring this meaningful message jewelry to life.”
In line with today’s personalization trend, customers can “write” their own word by choosing from Scribe’s extensive gemstone alphabet guide, which also explains the deeper meaning of the gem. The next step for customers is to decide how they want to wear their message. Ring lovers can opt for stacking rings, signet rings or other styles. For those who prefer earrings, there are several options available including studs, drops and huggies. Medallions come in four sizes and seven emblems, each with its own symbolism and significance.
By combining a chosen word with a selection of colored gemstones and symbolic emblems, customers create their own special one-of-a-kind ring, earrings or medallion. Customized pieces take four to eight weeks to produce, however, Eliza Page and several other retailers carry a selection of Scribe pieces that are in stock and ready to be worn straight out of the store. Items, which retail between $585 and $4,500, may also be ordered online at scribejewelry.com, where ready-made or design your own custom pieces may be purchased.

“I want my customers, both consumers and other jewelers, to love their Scribe jewelry,” concludes Gibson. “From the choice of gemstones to the symbolism of the emblem, this meaningful collection is meant to be cherished today and passed down through the generations.”
