Star Gems releases retailer access to over 10,000 CAD designs with advanced filtering options

Reading Time: 4 minutes

Leading custom design house Star Gems has manufactured thousands of custom designs over the past few years. Through this, they have assembled a large database of CAD designs which they are now releasing to retailers. Retailers will be able to view and do filtered searches through over 10,000 CAD designs when logged in on stargems.com.

The database presents many options which retailers can show their customers to secure a sale. Retailers can quickly search in the database for what their customer is looking for. The search is easy to use, allowing a retailer to filter designs based on a customer’s description, or a picture. According to Star Gems, not only is there the direct benefit of having access to all of the designs, but there is a corollary benefit of being able to show customers that the retailer has experience in custom design by having access to a database in the first place. Star Gems is offering this to retailers for free, just sign up for an account on their site.

Stargems Category

The database consists of their CAD directory, which has popular designs and one-of-a-kind designs not available from other manufacturers. The designs cover all jewelry categories including findings.

Being such a large database, Star Gems had to create an effective filtering system so anyone could conveniently find what they are looking for. They have created a new attribute system to categorize jewelry and suggest similar items. The attribute system records each design element in the ring, as well as thematic elements. Filtering is done through these elements, or attributes, and related items are suggested based on the similarity of attributes.

According to Star Gems, this large CAD design database is the first in the industry, especially if you consider the search functions. The number of designs available and ease of finding what a customer is looking for will help retailers make sales. It will also provide data, which helps retailers and the industry as a whole. For example, popular designs or certain popular design elements could be tracked over a time-period.

The designs also have value outside of trying to sell them directly. Retailers can find ideas for unsure customers or show examples of what something might look like. Rather than trying to describe to a customer what different styles of filigree might look like, they can filter the attribute “Filigree” in the database and see many different styles.

To get started with Star Gems, register at stargems.com to gain access to the database and much more. For more information, you may also contact Star Gems at 770-394-6727 or sales@stargems.com.
