Works by these makers are currently on view in two shows at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. The artists came to jewelry from opposite sides of a divided Europe. They both made jewelry the center of their artistic lives, but they arrived at very different ideas about material, value, form and wearability.
As AJF travels to Houston later this week to celebrate their first solo exhibitions in the US, we wanted to learn what happens when works by two very different artists sit side by side.

Erika Novak holds a trunk show at MFAH September 25–26, 2026, 11 am–6 pm
