The National Association of Jewelry Appraisers (NAJA) is pleased to announce that it will offer two (2) intermediate level Workshops on Opals: A Playful Array of Colors at the 63rd Annual ACE©It Winter Education Conference in Tucson AZ.
These three hour workshops, presented by Travis Lejman, FGA, are based on Dr. Paul B. Downing’s book Opal Identification and Value, the system of grading and identifying opals. The preamble will be to get a base line down on opals. Types, formation, localities, treatments, and properties on what to look for in grading and valuation will be covered as well as quality of diverse types of opal and pricing as discussed in Opal Identification & Value. The hands-on portion will give the participants the chance to examine over 150 opal samples from around the world and of varying qualities – both natural and synthetic.
