The Indian Diamond & Colorstone Association (IDCA) hosted its Annual Tucson Gala on February 2, 2023 after a hiatus of two years. Honorees at the event included: Mr. Abraham Nassi, Mya Nassi Inc; Mr. Sunil Agrawal, VGL Group; Ms. Sweta Jain, Goshwara; and Mr. Kumar Pal Shah, Real Gems Inc. Kimberly Collins, President of the American Gem Trade Association delivered the keynote address.
IDCA, the New York based association of jewelers, diamantaires and colored stone dealers, hosted its 39th Annual Tucson Awards Night on Thursday, February 2nd 2023 at the Hilton Tucson East during the AGTA Gem Show.
Mr. Shailesh Jhalani, President of IDCA, opened the evening by welcoming everyone to the gala. In his speech, Shailesh acknowledged the growth of the organization since its inception, with its members now comprising of titans of the jewelry industry.
Mr. Sunil Agrawal, Managing Director of Vaibhav Global Limited Group, was awarded the Industry Leadership Award. Accepting the award, Mr. Agrawal said that it was a privilege to receive this recognition from the community. He commented on the IDCA’s history and expressed gratitude for dealing with such storied products. He went on to forecast tremendous growth in the live stream shopping experience.
Ms. Sweta Jain, President, Goshwara Inc received the Designer of the Year Award. She said she was truly excited to receive the award and was extremely humbled and blessed to do so in such great company. She acknowledged the immense influence of her Dad on her journey, and the support of her family and her team.
Mr. Abraham Nassi, President, Mya Nassi Inc. received the Manufacturer of Year – Fine Jewelry Award. Nassi paid tribute to his roots, being born in India, for his passion for the gemstone industry and said he owed his spiritual background to his upbringing. He thanked his sister and family for their support in his endeavors.
Mr. Kumar Pal Shah, President, Real Gems Inc. was awarded the Manufacturer of Year – Emerald Award. He said he felt humbled to receive this award in the presence of such distinguished honorees, and thanked his older brother, Dr. Shah, who helped him launch Real Gems Inc. more than 40 years ago. Beginning as a dream of his 21-year-old self, his vision was brought to life by his hard work and strong will.
In her keynote address, Ms. Kimberly Collins said she was so proud of the diverse AGTA community and acknowledged how an Indian gem dealer had introduced her to the gemstone business.
