Jimmy DeGrootOklahoma Jewelers Association (OJA) President Jacoby Jarnagin has announced that the OJA has selected renowned jewelry staff trainer Jimmy DeGroot as the key speaker for their Spring Seminar.
“James comes as one of us – having actually worked in a jewelry store on a day-to-day basis, eventually working in all aspects of the business; selling, managing, training and paying the bills, just like most jewelers in our state,” said Jarnagin.
DeGroot began his jewelry career in 1996 in Appleton, Wisconsin at Jim Kryshak Jewelers, building his skills in not only sales, but also in managing staff, advertising and inventory control, eventually moving to manage their store in Wausa, Wisconsin.
The program for Oklahoma jewelers will consist of two parts: “Speak Their Language” and “Key Questions”.
In “Speak Their Language” James teaches the audience ways to build trust with customers by demonstrating intuitive understanding through communication with words and phrases that help to connect with each customer on a personal basis. He will provide many examples of how this can be done, and how it has worked for others.
“Key Questions” will teach participants that there are some key subjects that can be brought out in conversation with a customer which also help to connect and build trust. By using them, the salesperson also learns more about his customer and has information that is important and helpful toward meeting their desires and needs in buying jewelry.
The OJA Spring Seminar will be held in Oklahoma City at the Embassy Suites (Airport) on April 19th, 2020. Registration and a breakfast buffet begin with 8:00 a.m. The seminar begins at 9:30 and will conclude around 12:30.
